Our first meeting for this group was great success!!!! We had a great mix of participants ranging from internal medicine, radiology, non-profit as well as the investment community. There seemed to be some hesitance from majority of the group on sharing personal health information on the social networks and its adoption is questionable. My personal opinion is that the patients are taking matters into their own hands and it will move forward, however legal issues and regulations could halt it pretty quickly. The conversation quickly evolved to Electronic Medical Records Technology, its current use and the future state. It is definitely a hot topic in the industry and that was a suggested topic for next time. Some of the suggestions on improving the future meetups are: -"Lets actually solve problems" -"Get innovative healthcare start-ups to present" -"Get the investment community more engaged" (which probably result out of start-up presentation or visa-versa (chicken-egg ;) For those who attended, please review the meetup - your feedback is crucial to grow this community. Once again many thanks to E Health Solutions (SigmaCare) for providing the conference room. Our next meeting is set for October 23d but subject to change due to my potential travel for Helath 2.0 conference. Thanks to all for coming out and looking forward to meeting the rest of you who could not attend. |
