The other day, my daughter had a really bad cough. We took her to a pediatrician. I explicitly asked for a generic but when I showed up at my local pharmacy I had a $40 copay. First problem is that our pediatrician sees no value in eprescribing for her office. Sites reasons are: 1. It will break her perfect workflow. 2. She has no incentive 3. What if the device she uses breaks My rebuttals were not sucessfull (maybe I am a bad salesperson) Even if she had eprescribing, what is the likelyhood that she will switch the medication based on the formulary? According to a recent study by AHRQ, eprescribing with formulary support can save about $845K per 100K patients in drug spend. |
